CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST TO HOST THE
7TH INTERNATIONAL NETWORKED LEARNING CONFERENCE
The Networked Learning Conference is an international, research-based
conference which is run by Lancaster University. Since its inception in
1998 the conference has developed a strong following by international
Researchers. In addition it is well supported by practitioners, managers
and learning technologists interested in contributing and hearing about
research in this area. The conference is considered a major event in the
international 'technology enhanced learning' conference circuit.
Conference papers are peer reviewed and published in proceedings and
online.
The conference is run every other year, and we are seeking expressions
of interest by university colleagues to host the next conference in 2010.
Hosting the conference involves the management and effective running of
the conference at the host venue. A Scientific Committee which is jointly
chaired by Professor Vivien Hodgson and Professor David McConnell at Lancaster
University, along with invited members including a member of the hosting
venue, oversees the academic aspects of the conference. A Conference Committee
which includes Lancaster University personnel and personnel from the hosting
venue overseas the day-to-day management and running of the conference.
Hosting the conference brings significant benefit to the hosting organisation,
including wide publicity via the world wide web; recognition of the research
base associated with the conference; the opportunity to network with international
researchers; the opportunity to participate in the production of the conference
proceedings.
